TLG v2.0 Released!!!

 

Finally, at long last, The Legendary Generations Mod presents our latest release, v2.0! It's been a long time since our first release as TLG, and we've come a long way. We've added a lot to the mod, and made a lot of improvements. We've tested out all the major bugs, and most of the minor ones, rebalanced stats across all the eras, made some changes to the menu UI, added our new, completely reworked stat display system for the fleet selection menu to all ships, added new torpedo sprites, properly balanced both the ship destruction blast damage and radii and the ship repair rates, fixed the campaign so that you can now play it with our stats up through the TOS era (full campaign expected to be fully functional by our next major release), added some new, Canon and HIGH QUALITY sound effects to TOS and TMP (more to come in upcoming releases), and the crown jewel of this release: all new, Canon and HIGH QUALITY music for the menu and all races save the Borg. We're very proud of what we've accomplished with this release, and only wish we could add more (we were actually delayed a few days because we kept shooting ourselves in the foot, adding last-minute fixes and updates). We hope you enjoy our mod.

Greetings! Rogue Vulcan here, the Project Leader over at TLG. (All that means is that I take all the credit for my team's work. :P )

 

I just wanted to let everyone here know what we've got in the way of 'really cool tech', that is, some of the more exciting and interesting aspects of TLG.

 

1) True dual-firing torpedoes for the Defiant, and psuedo-dual-firing torps for the Negh'var. As you can see in the screenshot of the Defiant, it can fire both tubes at once, as seen in DS9. The Negh'var also fires two torps, but they are actuall pulses that just look like torps. (A bit of "cheating" there.) But regardless, I don't think any other mod has accomplished that yet, so I'm proud of it.

 

2) Canon TOS Romulan plasma torpedoes. The plasma torpedo you can see in that screencap is actually taken straight from the remastered episode. It packs a HUGE punch, but is slow, and can be evaded if you're quick on the warp button.

 

3) Tractor beams. We have just figured out how to get tractor beams to work on any ship. All you have to do is take out the engines of the target, and you can tow it with your tractor beams. Again, as far as I know, TLG is the first mod to be able to do this. (I know UUM has tractors, but as far as I know, they work any time, not just when you have disabled the enemy, like ours do.) The tractors actually didn't make it into this release, but they'll be in a patch that we're currently working on.

 

4) The Campaign mode. I have worked for a long time on getting the SP campaign to work, even with our changes. As of right now, you can play the SP campaign all the way through TOS. Just a few more missions to work on, and the entire campaign will be perfectly playable.

my install isn't in the stock location..is that ok ro do I need to shuffle some folders around?

No that is not a problem Dagger just change the install directory in the installer when it asks where to install. Also me and Ilithi are testing MP out right now. There is a race selection bug but when it works it is amazing. We will get right on a patch to get MP fully functional.
