Tantobot Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Sorry if this has been asked before, but since the AIM120 is Active homing does that mean that I can acquire one target fire at it and then switch to another and fire a different missile at it and both will go to thier respective targets? Thanks Quote
BUFF Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Afaik the game doesn't model this. Irl when fired BVR the the AIM-120 doesn't switch to active homing until later but uses mid-course updates (usually from the firing ac) until it closes to self-homing range. Quote

So the firing unit cannot ever be sure that they cannot stop tracking the target until it gets kinda fiery out on the horizon....... Quote

Thanks Irregardless of how the "Slammer" behaves in real life, in this series, once you've verified that the missile has acquired the target on its own and has begun tracking it (as evidenced by it performing fast and often erratic-appearing course corrections), you are free to target another aircraft.
