Erikgen and I are still working hard on her  I'm working on the Flight Model and have hard time to find reliable infos about its performance.

For instance wiki gives 2 different values (one 98KN and one 107KN) about Lyulka AL-7F-2 max power... So any good info are welcome

OK! AL-7F-2: on Tu-128 used AL-7F2 series 0, 1, 2, 4, 6 ,7

75000/10100 KG/sec -> 73.5/98.98 KN, TSFC on max 0.91, TSFCAB 2.04 ;

107KN is AL-7F4 or Al-7F4G some Tu-128 updated in 1963-67 {2-5 planes}

Have other questions? i want to help everyone, who worked on Soviet planes.

Question: you worked on on Tu-128 only in serie 1962-70 in service 1962~1982 187 planes R-4R & R-4T missles

on and Tu-128M - almost all tu-128 were updated [1979] in service 1979~1995 R-4MR & R-4MT missiles ?

ErikGen will confirm it but I think it's 1962-1982 version (with R-4R & R-4T missles)...

Thanks for the engines info...

Thanks for the infos.

I have not much time now but the project is still alive. Here some image ; the plane is ok but with only one image of the pit (the same posted by lindr2) it is a hard job.

When the general layout of the main panel is ready, i will need help for sure with all those cyrillic labels  .

The version is the TU128 for now , but the TU128M should be a easy conversion (the top tail , some antennas and radar performance only, if i am not wrong).

Yeah I know, but you were talking about a Tu-4 as a missile carrier so I thought about a tu-22 mod...

In China, TU-4 was once used as a night fighter, interceptor P2V-7. TU-128 are at the basis of TU-98 on the development of an air defense interceptor aircraft, TU-128 at the TU-98 navigator module install a K-24 fire control radar, english-to-air 50 km away. Weapons for the R-4 air-to-air missile

TU-128 can carry fired R-40? Do not know ......

R-4 was upgated to R-4M, work started in 1968, in 1969 first prototypes made, in 1969 - 12 test launches, in 1970 - 14 tests in 1973 - 18 tests, in 1974 - 14 tests , at fall 1974 test programm was complited.

R-4MR & R-4MT offically in service since 1979 .

R-4 can intercept targets up to 2000 kmph on frontal ascept, 1250 in rear, min altitude 7000-8000m

R-4M can intercept targets up to 2500 kmph on frontal ascept, 1250 in rear, min altitude 500m

R-4R, R-4T & R-4MR, R-4MT presens in my weapon packs

Keep at it Erik the Fiddler looks superb ! Best of all you're actually taking the time to do a dedicated pit for it, that's a bonus. Thanks in advance for your work. :good:

lindr, the source below talks about proposed nuck warhead for R-8.

English: "small special charge"

http://www.missiles.ru/k8.htm

Anybody talk of nucks for R-4 or R-40?

please, be carefull in translation:

...Планировалось в 1958г. провести НИР совместно с Минсредмашем по определению возможности установки на К-8 малогабаритного спецзаряда. Эти работы были сняты с плана в 1959 году....

... It was planned in 1958г. To carry out research together with MinSredMach by definition of a capability of installation on K-8 small-size nuclear warhead.

These activities have been removed from the plan in 1959....

only know my Soviet nuclear anty-aircraft missles in SERIAL PRODUCTIONS {included in SAM pack beta]

- V-300-215 Berkut (SA-1)

- 5V18 Berkut (SA-1)

- 44N6 Berkut (SA-1)

- V-760 Volkhov (SA-2)

- V-760V Volkhov (SA-2)

- V-870 Biriusa (SA-5B)

- V-880MN Dubna-D (SA-5C)

some autors {i.e. A.B.Shirokorad } said: '... R-40 with nuclear warhead probably exist', but any facts does not represent.

i think NO, if these exist, we would have proofs.

Thanks man!!! I guess...no, but just wondering if anybody even *talked* about the idea, proposal, research....

But would work okay for non-history sim campaign. And that's what I'm here for mostly
