TPN_Bard Posted July 11, 2003 Posted July 11, 2003 No-one knows for sure as the sim isn't finished, but my GUESS would be that you'll have to turn some of the detail down. FPS is often more important than eye candy when you get down to the dogfight. Quote
Kedas Posted July 12, 2003 Posted July 12, 2003 This are the requirements from the FAQ: Windows®98/ME/XP/2000 Pentium III 800/AMD Athlon 600 or better 256 MB RAM (512 MB RAM recommended) 3D video card (DirectX 8.1 compatible) w/32MB RAM (128MB recommended) Sound Card (Direct 8.1 compatible) DirectX 8.1 or higher (included on disc) 4X CD-ROM or better (Not recommended for use with CD-RWs) Internet connection (56 kbps or better) or LAN for multiplayer Hard Drive Space 1.1 GB But obviously this are just the requirements to play it, not to enjoy it ;) I do wonder about one thing they say "3D video card (DirectX 8.1 compatible)" does this mean that a DX9 card wouldn't have any advantage over a DX8.1 card ? With other words DX9 features aren't used for the game. ? (not that I care much because I still have a GF4 Ti4600 card) Quote
+Fates Posted July 12, 2003 Posted July 12, 2003 I don'tthink you'll much problem at all running the game. You MAY have to turn some effect down (SLIGHTLY), and you may need to turn mirrors off, but you system will be fine. The truth is that no-one knows. Fates Quote
Kedas Posted July 12, 2003 Posted July 12, 2003 The truth is that no-one knows. I don't think that the developers of LOMAC like it if you call them 'no-one' ;) Quote

I don't think that the developers of LOMAC like it if you call them 'no-one' ;) No-one does know right now not even the developer. The sim is being optimized right now and until that is finnished the way it will run on any one machine is not known. Hopefully after opimizing it will run very well on your puter but I don't think you will be able to use max settings. Quote
snapple2993 Posted July 12, 2003 Posted July 12, 2003 In my humble opinion, they may need to put the video card at 64mb (minimum), and needing 512 mb ram to run this game at a fringe level. Just seems to me that the eye candy is too good for anything less. Of course FPS could rely more on the amount of objects in game. IL2 runs great with my system, and so does Splinter Cell (my system is about the same as the original posters)... but LOMAC has a whole lot more stuff in it (graphics wise). Anybody know how many planes they are planning on allowing for a single mission... think IL2 is 32 planes per game? Cheers, Jay Quote
+Fates Posted July 13, 2003 Posted July 13, 2003 The Key words are "MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS"....and you see it on every box, thus it's in the FAQ. You have to set a baseline. The UNKNOWN at this time is "RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS" as they tweak the beta and optimize it for what's on the market today. Fates Quote
Kedas Posted July 13, 2003 Posted July 13, 2003 Anybody know how many planes they are planning on allowing for a single mission... think IL2 is 32 planes per game? The faq talks about max 32 players in multiplayer (with LAN; 6 over internet) Soo for a single player it will probably also be max 32 different planes. Quote
