topcat II Posted December 6, 2007 Author Posted December 6, 2007 Hi Kevin here is mytais note on how to which is public let me know if you need anything more. Mytai01's 1966 VMFA-115 F-4B skin This skin depicts the 1966 F-4B's of VMFA-115 Silver Eagles. Installation: 1.Drop the USMCVMFA115 66 folder into your Objects/Aircraft/F-4b folder. 2.Add the following lines to the F-4b.ini: [TextureSetXXX] Directory=USMCVMFA115 66 Name=VMFA-115 Silver Eagles 66' Nation=USMC Squadron=VMFA115 Specular=0.30 Glossiness=0.75 Reflection=0.00 The "XXX" should be replaced by the number that follows the last texture set number. I have followed this and still have no luck?? Quote
+Wrench Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 That would be used for your textureset ini; the part of the text added to the main ini that tells the skin what to do. Out of curiosity, IS there a textureset.ini with the skin??? Even if you add it to the F-4B.ini, you may still need one in the skin folder. What I need to see is there a decals.ini. That's what tells the game engine where, and what kind of, marking to add to the skin. Wrench kevin stein Quote
+Gocad Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 (edited) Wrench, I don't think that the decals.ini is the problem here. I have installed several mytai's skin and never had a problem with them. (Except for their size, perhaps. Well, quality has its price. ) A little help please I am using mytai skins on the F-4B in SFP1 and WOV but all I see is a plane with no decal markings at allI have the f-4b ini edited for the skins and the squadrons listed am I missing a step?? Topcat, have you changed the name of the skin folder in any way? Because in my opinion that is the usual explanation for decals not showing up. Example: (from mytai's 1971's VF51 skin) [Decal001] MeshName=wing_left_outer DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=TOP FilenameFormat=f-4b\pacusnvf51 71\D\usa <- if you change the name of the skin folder 'pacusnVf51_71' the decals won't show up anymore. Position=-4.0,-0.94 Rotation=37.5 Scale=3.2 DecalMaxLOD=3 Edited December 6, 2007 by Gocad Quote

+LloydNB Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 topcat II I'm at work so can't check, but from memory you might find that the problem is the [space] in the folder name. As I recall it, the fileformat line can't be read if there's a space in it. For example fileformat=f-4b\usmcvmfa115 66\D\wtt should be changed to fileformat=f-4b\usmcvmfa115_66\D\wtt. This will mean changing the tile of the skin folder and the f-4b.ini file entry to match. There is also a maximum length to the number of characters that can be used to identify a decal. Your full path entry is getting up there. LloydNB Quote
topcat II Posted December 7, 2007 Author Posted December 7, 2007 Thank You LloydNB I will will also give that a try.. Quote
