Canadair Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 How do you know which noseart .tga is connected to which number? I jus t downloaded th cool RAF eagle desert piink from wrench. Which has chamged owner and will make a good merc squadron But I dlike to know how to pick (and maybe rename) the number in the loadout screen, so that I know which decal I'll be flying with. I know it is easy and under my eyes,, but really can't get it... thanks Quote
Wrench Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 You're taking all my naked, and semi-clothed girly nose art and SELLING them to mercenaries?????!!!! I'm shocked! Shocked I tell you!!! BTW, where's my cut?? All the serials (XT***) are the stock 3rdWire F-4M ones...they use the same numbering sequencers. Look at the decals ini... [Decal009]MeshName=Vertical_Stabilizer_R DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=F4M_SN Position=-5.45,0.82 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.25 DecalMaxLOD=3 Hint: the decals are in the objects cat...look for "F4M_SN000 - 099.tga" The nose art and SN use the same sequences. F4M_SN000 gets NArt000, and so on OR... is the question "How can I add the nose art name to the numbers list" (see some of my WW2 planes). Like this, from the 498th BG 73rd BW PTO B-29s Wrench kevin stein The quote from my signature is from a abook that starts about women smuggling and then gets on to weapon smuggling and drug dealing before dropping into unreal and dark human mind recesses. Anyway: the questions are both; in the D I have Nart000, nart001 and so on; in the number .lst, I have first numbers XT891 and XT892; now will they respectively have the nart000 and nart001? as for Renaming them is easy. Also in a campaign I have to use starnumber=1 according to the sequence in numbers.lst, or XT891? Thanks grr and now I have to download your B-29s.. if anything to move nosearts somewhere else Another question. you familiar with the book "gray eagles" by duane unkefer? it portrays the story of some old luftwaffe aces that restore Bf-109 in texas or something and they do some demosntration including strafing at awarbirds air show, reviving the nazi era in resort airport hidden in the desert They challenge a group of old P-51 pilots, that defeated them back in those days and a solo spitfire, ending up in WWII dogfight over SW US, that will drag everyone resentement and guilt and bravery.. Now if yu could point me to a Gustav Bf-109, and if I could have the resort airfield, (with apool!) and the wardbird air show targets area,,, the campaing can be done. It would be something cool and nasty.. FINAL EDIT; I am star renaming and making the noseart predictable. excellent. But some of them appear with the name hidden by black marker in my .tga viewer, althoguh the name appears in the game.. WTF... Really final edit.. look at this one.. I love Mary Rose, I seen her at LeBourget 1991, and I still have the pictures, I was 16 at the time... Edited February 18, 2008 by Canadair Quote

I do believe your seeing the black box because the program your using dosen't handle alpha layers that TGA's use. What program are you using? Quote
Wrench Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Like HrntFxr said, your image program can't handle the alpha channel...irfanveiw don't either, so I just open all them in Photoshop. Start with the last one first, so they stack up in reverse order. Then, just list them next to the serial numbers in the numbers.lst I'd send you the bmps that I used to make them, but can't remember where I put them!!!! I NEVER throw anythign out...expecially noseart decals!!!! (as evidenced by the re-use of several) BTW, it can anyone ever wondered, "Miss Prissy" and "Patches" are named after 2 of our cats. "Patricia Ann" is my wife. Wrench kevin stein ps: there's a 109G10 in Wolf's WW2 Planes Pak, but you probably knew that! :) Quote
Canadair Posted February 18, 2008 Author Posted February 18, 2008 (edited) I am using a cheap freeware tga viewer. Thanks for the hints And I renamed all of the noseart for the F-15. Only to see that some of them have obviously a name that I can't read Any idea for a freeware SMAll PROGRAM THAT CAN HANDLE ALPHA? Wrench I'll send you the file when done of the names... And thanks for pointing me at the G, I actually missed it Anyway, you familiar with the book I mentioneD? EDIT: found the program. Back to renaming... Edited February 18, 2008 by Canadair Quote

Wrench Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Ooops..I read right over it and it didn't register. No, I'm not famailiar with that book...but it sound cool!!! Did you want me to add it??? Now that I've got the 'flatten airfeields'' thing down, I should probably do an update to ASW...we can have Randolph and Kelly operational, and perhaps add another GS airfield Perhaps adding a little airfield in Harlingin, home of the Commerative Air Force?? I can add paked WW2 planes for the meausem (sp?) Have to steal, um errr, borrow them from the WW2 maps.... Wrench Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 They look good on Rhinos!!! "China Girl" is also Salyma Hyack. She, and several other come from my "Fakes" collection...which is rather extensive...(it's ok, you can call me a perv! I don't mind!) Cleopatra, Delilah and Salome are all Bettie Page. She shows up in a LOT of them You think the "Desert Strom" style are good...you should see the ones I've got the F-302 Mongoose. Obviously, some are repeated, but they all have the Stargate-ish theme. If I can just get Capun to give me a nose mesh.... WRench Kevin Stein Quote
