RogueSnake Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 Ok, I've read, and re-read how to add weapons to campaigns. But I can't get anything I try to work, can't figure it out. All I wanted to do was to add the AGM-65A, and Rockeye to the F-4E Kurnass in the Yom Kippur campaign. Tired of this "attack 40 tanks defended by shilka's" with dumb bombs crap. All it will let me have is WW2 weapons. From what I've read, these planes had the 2 weapons I listed available at that time. So, I want them... NEED them lol. I read Bunyaps tutorial on how to add weapons, but I must be missing something, or something has changed with WOI. I edited the Campaign2 data.ini file to look like this: //----------------------------------------------------------------------------- //---- IDF/AF Air Units [AirUnit001] AircraftType=F-4E_Kurnass Squadron=69IDF ForceID=1 Nation=ISRAEL DefaultTexture=1 BaseArea=Ramat David Airbase BaseMoveChance=0 RandomChance=100 MaxAircraft=16 StartAircraft=16 MaxPilots=16 StartPilots=16 Experience=100 Morale=100 Supply=50 MissionChance[sWEEP]=60 MissionChance[CAP]=40 MissionChance[iNTERCEPT]=40 MissionChance[ESCORT]=10 MissionChance=60 MissionChance[CAS]=20 MissionChance[sEAD]=40 MissionChance[ARMED_RECON]=20 MissionChance[ANTI_SHIP]=10 MissionChance[RECON]=10 UpgradeType=NEVER Supply[001].WeaponType=AIM-7E Supply[001].Quantity=160 Supply[002].WeaponType=AIM-9D Supply[002].Quantity=240 Supply[003].WeaponType=Shafrir2 Supply[003].Quantity=240 Supply[004].WeaponType=Mk82 Supply[004].Quantity=1000 Supply[005].WeaponType=Matra-155 Supply[005].Quantity=120 Supply[006].WeaponType=AGM-45A Supply[006].Quantity=240 Supply[007].WeaponType=M117 Supply[007].Quantity=240 Supply[008].WeaponType=Mk83 Supply[008].Quantity=120 Supply[009].WeaponType=LAU-3A Supply[009].Quantity=240 Supply[010].WeaponType=LAU-10A Supply[010].Quantity=120 Supply[011].WeaponType=UK500LB Supply[011].Quantity=120 Supply[012].WeaponType=UK1000LB Supply[012].Quantity=40 Supply[013].WeaponType=Tank370_F4 Supply[013].Quantity=240 Supply[014].WeaponType=Tank600_F4 Supply[014].Quantity=120 Supply[015].WeaponType=AGM-65A <------ Supply[015].Quantity=120 Supply[016].WeaponType=Rockeye <------ Supply[016].Quantity=240 I tried editing that file, and leaving it in the flight folder, didn't work. Before that I did as bunyap said, copied it to the campaign folder, renamed it, and edited it, didn't work. The other thing is, in some of the missions I can jump around to other aircraft, F-4's in other flights, and they are sometimes loaded with the said weapons. And they don't have them listed in the Campaign file as above either. I checked the date range of the weapons and they say 1973, and thats the start date for the campaign. Do I need to set them to 1972 or something? What else is there to do? Is there another file to edit. surely someone else has already done this, or attempted to. Or is it un-historical to do so? Quote
+Gocad Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 Two things. It doesn't really matter whether you assign weapons to your unit that shouldn't be available at that time. If they are listed in the campaign_data then you will get them. Other AI flights are armed according to the aircraft's loadout.ini. It doesn't matter here whether those weapons are listed in the campaign_data or not. However, it may happen that the game loads earlier versions of the weapons listed in the loadout file when the weapons listed there are not available during that time. Finally, a stupid question: Did you restart the campaign after you did those edits? Because modifcations made to the campaign_data do not affect campaigns in progress. Quote
+Brainless Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 (edited) Yeah, I've restarted it. If you haven't already done so get the latest weapons pack from Column5.US available here http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...amp;showcat=340 and instal it in WOI. I had the same type of problem and this resolved it. Be mindful though that most of the aircraft availble for WOI have some weapons which are not consistent with the new weapons pack but you can just amend these in the Loadouts .ini. as Gocad has said. It's not hard even I can do it. Edited March 22, 2008 by Brainless Quote
RogueSnake Posted March 23, 2008 Author Posted March 23, 2008 Well, I tried that lol. Now I have no weapons for any of the aircraft... Good thing I backed it up. Before I did that, I did have the latest one by the mirage factory(weapons pack) Quote

Before I did that, I did have the latest one by the mirage factory(weapons pack) The WOI weps pack by the MF? Also make sure the year of the weps does fall under the year you want the aircraft to show. What weps are you trying to add? Quote
RogueSnake Posted March 23, 2008 Author Posted March 23, 2008 Yeah, like I said 1973 for the mav A. Yom Kippur start date 73. I must be rusty, I've been fool'n around with these games for along time. Never posted here much though. I just have one question, Have any of you tried to add a weapon to a default aircraft, in any of the default WOI campaigns? Quote
RogueSnake Posted March 23, 2008 Author Posted March 23, 2008 Supply[015].WeaponType=AGM-65A Supply[015].Quantity=120<------------------------- Supply[016].WeaponType=Rockeye Supply[016].Quantity=240<----------------------- Could this be why? TK said that the new campaign engine kept track of everything. Maybe the Quantity of a weapon represents the Quantity for the whole Airforce. What I'm saying is if another aircraft has the same weapon listed in the campaign data, with a different quantity it would cause a problem? Quote

Have you flown more than one mission? I make campaigns, and the first mission I fly for some reason I am don't have any weps. But then the next mission, it works and I have more weapons than I know what to do with. Quote
RogueSnake Posted March 23, 2008 Author Posted March 23, 2008 Yeah, guess i just wait for someone's uber updated Yom Kippur campaign. I tired of fool'n with it now, its pissed me off... :) Quote
RogueSnake Posted March 24, 2008 Author Posted March 24, 2008 Well, I figured it out. I had to use the weapons editor, and put a check in the Israel box. Now the weapons show. Quote
