snakeman Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 (edited) Hi just flew a single mission Fighter Sweep in WOE. I was fliying a F-4D when the Bad Guys showed up they were flying A-4 Super Echos (USAF vs USN not what I was expecting). How does the game decide what enemy a/c to use in single missions or is it totally random ? Thanks Edited March 25, 2008 by snakeman Quote
Wrench Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Because the Super Echos, being 'agressor' aircraft are considered an enemy nation (ie: they're assinged an enemy nationality). If you'll all open your "A-4ese_data.ini" to page one (sorry, couldn't resit 'teacher mode'), you'll see this at the top, for the aircraft's mission statment: [MissionData]NationName=Soviet <--bad guy status!!! ServiceStartYear=1973 ServiceEndYear=1992 AircraftRole=FIGHTER AircraftCapability=DAY_ONLY Availability=RARE Exported=TRUE ExportStartYear=1975 ExportAvailability=RARE PrimaryRoles=CAP,INTERCEPT SecondaryRoles=SWEEP NormalMissionRadius=563 MaxMissionRadius=1137 Ceiling=14900 MinBaseSize=SMALL so, they're not actually US Navy. They're just painted that way -- bonus points for naming that reference! Wrench kevin stein Quote
+Gocad Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 (edited) AFAIK the Super Echo is set up as an ENEMY (IIRC SOVIET) aircraft. It's hard to force the game to include a specfic enemy aircraft in a random single mission. EDIT: Is there any other film than Top Gun? Edited March 25, 2008 by Gocad Quote
snakeman Posted March 25, 2008 Author Posted March 25, 2008 ok cool thanks for the quick response ! Quote
