SkyStrike 15 Posted March 27, 2008 Hi Everyone... I just stumbled on to some what-if fictional versions of the F-14 Tomcat while doing a Google search.... Here's the link.. http://www.phpbbplanet.com/shipyard/viewto...mforum=shipyard
SkyStrike 15 Posted March 27, 2008 (edited) I'd love to see these on the Thirdwire sims but unfortunately I lack the competence & resources to create them..... Edited March 27, 2008 by Tomcat_ace
macelena 1,070 Posted March 27, 2008 That sounds awesome, it could include TVC, new cockpit and engines, more staions Have you known of any pics?
Talos 0 Posted March 27, 2008 (edited) Ah yes, those would be my F-14NG family. There's a few of the images in my gallery here at CA, but the newest is in that thread at Wolf's Shipyard. EDIT: My network connection is acting up, but I was going to post the most recent updated side view of the EF-14G that I never posted on that site. A CA exclusive. I'll add it later. Great! looking forward to seeing it here... One more thing... If you don't mind my asking, do you plan on releasing these aircraft on a combat simulation at some point? Talos 0 Posted March 27, 2008 Thanks Tomcat_ace. I have very limited modeling skills (my JASDF weapon pack here was my first 3d project), but I'd be happy to work with a modeler who wants to get it in game. I would love to see them fly, I just wish that I had the skills to do it myself. So, if anyone is interested in fleshing them out, feel free to contact me. Oh, and there is more then just the Tomcat II in the thread there. I also have the F-27 Warhawk II, F-34A Dreamstar, and (just posted this morning), F-29 "Lynx". Talos 0 Posted March 27, 2008 (edited) Thanks, man. I switched buildings (I was in class at university when I posted earlier), so I'm on a better network now. Here's the pic I wanted to show, the most recent updates to the EF-14G delta-winged multi-role version. It's intended to do many of the "utilitarian" support roles in a carrier air wing, such as Electronic Warfare escort, SEAD, AWACS (with AESA pods under both wings and a data-processing and transmitting pod under the fuselage, buddy tanking, and the S-3B's ASW work with a sonar buoy pod and anti-submarine ordinance. Talos 0 Posted March 28, 2008 I found another pic that I never uploaded to that other site so I might as well show it here. It's an F-14F configured for a strike mission with 12 SDB (4 rows of three) on specially modified pallets, two AIM-9X, and two AIM-162 Enhanced Sparrow Missiles on the wing glove pylons. It also has two CFTs on it's back as well. Unlike the EF-14G pic above, this one also has vector thrust nozzles, you can see the split rudder where the lower sections turn inward to give clearance when the nozzles vector upwards. Do you plan doing a coloured sketch of this version sometime? Just a humble request/suggestion.....
Talos 0 Posted March 29, 2008 (edited) Well, it doesn't have any armaments or the wheel references, but I did do a (still not totally finished) Luftwaffe "Black Tulip" F-14F. I was imagining the F-14F could replace the Tornado in it's roles and let the Typhoon stick with primarily A2A and some A2G roles. Sorry to be too demanding but do you have the same variant in USN colours??? if not it's ok no probs....
Talos 0 Posted March 29, 2008 Not yet, but I do plan on doing some USN squadron colors. I'm already planning to do the VF-2 Bounty Hunters and, if I can find a decent decal of the dog on the tail, the VF-143 Pukin' Dogs.

Yeah, I am taking my time, it's getting to exam season in college now. The markings won't take long, it's the shading that is new to me and will take some time. Yeah, it's the CAG bird of VF-2 Bounty Hunters, NE-100. Edited April 12, 2008 by Talos
