well, I've run into another problem.

I've finally perfected my low-level bombing technique, and I'm using my newfound skill to (try to) complete the Burning Sands campaign in SFP1, with the current service pack, but not the patch that came after it, becuase my system lags way too much with it installed.

HOWEVER

I've hit a wall. After completing a strike mission where the debrief informed me that "allied forces have taken Jarimin", I was tasked with a CAS mission where I have to either "destroy enemy forces defending the (Jarimin) area" or "Destroy enemy forces attacking the area". After I complete the mission and press Esc, weither it is sucessful or not, the screen goes black and freezes. I can use ctrl-alt-delete, and it informs me that "flight sim" is not responding, and is drawing 99% of the "cpu usage". I left it all night last night, but this morning it was still as frozen as it was 12 hours ago, so I shut off the power supply, blah blah blah, and of couse when I went back on to SFP1, I had to do the mission again. Rinse, lather, repeat.

Is there a way to get around this, will the patch fix it or the next service pack, or is it just that my computer isn't good enough to get past this checkpoint? If it's a "get a better computer" or "wait for the Service Pack" thing, then I guess I will, but If I can get past this wall and actually complete a campaign, I'd be over the moon.

It sounds to me more like it's an issue with the campaign. However, I've never played that campaign, so I can't guess as to what is causing it...

A campaign will crash on Esc if the strategic nodes are not done properly ive found - testing every single path probably isn't feasible - is that the stock campaign?

yeah, it's the stock one. I fly untill "mission complete", but I don't usually try to get all the way back to base, covering 3 other A-4s from endless groups of MiG-17s is a real bugger, especially with those guns :fie:

other CAS missions finished fine, though. This is the only stubborn one.
