Interesting, I've never seen an airplane on outdoor display with its gear retracted to appear "in flight". Only hanging from ceilings in large indoor museums. A nice touch!

really? I think every "plane on a stick" I've seen is with the gear retracted. Certainly around here that's the case.

Oh, ok, "gate guards" have their gear retracted, yes. I'm not talking about them, though, I mean more museum-style displays like that SHar.

that Sea Harrier FRS.51 Srl No. 621 had a bad landing and its landing gear & some systems got damaged beyond repair. Hence the airframe was put on display.
