After oct patch ALL planes need to corrected FM & Engine tables...

 

I found mach table info for F-14, F-5E, Jaguar engines. This info present in russian pilot manuals 198~ Era.

This is Interesting,and very much needed.

 

what do you guys think about having a sticky thread in the knowledge base where we can list the planes that need to have some attention given to their flight model for use with the new patch, so that C5 or another flight model guru

can take a look at them. Some of my favorite aircraft do some funny things with the new patch. I was watching the AI fly the F-106 the other day and it looked like the jet was suspended by a string in its center .... the nose was pointing/jerking all over the place pretty funny stuff. A shame though because it was one of my favorites with the 8/06 patch.

Good call, though we have data from -1 and NATOPs manuals available to us.

 

Also, 7-figure resolution is rather basic, as both Streakeagle (independent), and Kreelin (Mirage Factory), have produced dry and wet-Mach tables with upwards of 20-30 entries. That level of resolution can certainly be "felt" in a model's performance.

There are several sources, two of which I mentioned.

 

To start with, there was (and there may still be) a rather interesting, free applet available from NASA, called "Enginesim", that allowed one to either create, or use an existing jet engine design, and produce altitude table graphs with literally dozens of entries.

They're MF birds, and they're either being worked on, or will be updated. I do have a '21MF FM, that I will upload, shortly.

Here are typical R-15-300 engine data (Mig-25's, dry and wet thrusts vs mach at different altitudes). I'm working now to represent it in the game (to improve performance of the Mig-25). Both thrusts depend on altitude in very different ways, so it's quite difficult to close real and game's parameters. Moreover, the functions have discontinuities, so I think there is no need to have dozens of entries in each mach table - 10-12 will be enough in such case.
