AIM-120

Hello folks,

I searched in the KB, did a search in the forum but I didn't find a solution. I want to add the AIM-120 to the stock german F-4F. I tried to copy/paste the loadout and the weapons section in the data.ini, but no luck.

 

Has anybody a solution?

You adjust the years for the AIM-120? (Service start and end date) That may be the issue.

Download the F-4F ICE. You'll get your AMRAAMs then.

Well, okay, I'll download the ICE version. But is there no way to add radar-guided missiles to the stock F-4F?

 

@EricJ: nah, I adjusted the game time period settings from 1950 to 2010 like it's proposed in the KB, so that shouldn't be the problem.

I think the aim-120 is an AHM. So add AHM to the weapon station you want to carry it.

In the F-4f data ini scroll down to the weapons part and where it says recessed, add AHM. make sure there is a comma between AHM and SAHM then save it.

Finally, I got it

 

I messed up with the copy/paste method and forgot, that I have to add the SparrowStations1-4 in the fuselage section. It works fine if you copy the whole weapons section from the F-4E to the F-4F. (that's what I messed up )

If somebody needs the explanation hot to do it, following steps are required to add SAHMs and AHMs:

1. Open the F-4F_data

2. Open the F-4E_data

3. Copy the [fuselage]-section from the F-4E to the-F (Note: The values are the same)

4. Copy the entire [weaponstations]-section from the F-4E to the-F

5. Extract with the cat-extractor the F-4E loadout.ini

6. Rename it to F-4F_loadout.ini

7. Drop it in the F-4F folder

8. Enjoy it!!!

Not bad but as hinted already done.

The stock thirdwire F-4F was meant to be a sidewinders only bird, because that's what the real one was.

It's a challenge to surive campaigns in the stock one.

 

Be sure to get the whole F4F package and ravenclaws skins for them too. They work like charm and have correct avionics and weapon selections already build in.

Yeah, done that, works really fine in WoE. However, it's allways a lot fun and makes the sim waaaayyyy betther when I can screw up with modding myself

all of my F-4's both stock and 3rd party have been modded for all the 3rd wire series some have worked some have not but is very cool to learn how to mod them
