Macklroy 2 Posted April 25, 2009 I have pilot settings on DiD dead IS dead. But in the last two sorties ive been forced down behind the lines on one occastion, and all together shot into flames on the next. I think ol' boschy has it out for me. Anyway, no hospitalization, no burial ceremony. Just a pat on the back for a good mission and time to fill out some claim reports. Anyone else have the case of the 'pilot that wouldnt die'. Almost dont feel like bringing this up because i've racked up a nice 18 kill tally. Kinda feels jaded though since this pilot really should be dead. Moments before Mack McRoy was forced to land behind enemy lines a photographer snapped this shot.
Hellshade 110 Posted April 25, 2009 I have had things like that happen before too. had a pilot crash hard into a bunch of trees. Another went down with the engine and cockpit on fire from at least 4,000 feet. Another time I drop out of the sky with my bottom wings ripped off. Lived through all of those, but then finally his life ends when he has one crash too many. Sometimes you get lucky streaks. Just don't count on them. They don't usually last that long. /salute Hellshade
Olham 164 Posted April 25, 2009 Yes, MacLroy, I had that happening too. And I tell you what - it's so hard to make the 17 hours, or 12 confirmed kills, that I didn't bother. I didn't want the team to jump on that and eliminate it. Imagine it being lucky streaks. As Hellshade said: they'll be over sooner than you think.
