Patch Release?

Just thought I would ask here if anyone has an idea of when it'll be out. I can check this forum while I'm at work, but not the Ubi one (gets caught by the filter). I know 'Wags' said that "by the new year was a goal but not a promise". I fully understand why he worded his response the way he did. I also know that it has grown to at least 21Mb. I'm just putting out a feeler guage......

Testing on it has been going along rather well.

 

The only REAL problem is that the UbiSoft offices are closed up until Monday the 5th of January, 2004. So if a patch were finalled before then, it could not be

posted until that time, at least.

 

I'm gonna pull a Stormin' and say this is all BEST case scenerio, and a worthless tidbit of information solely my own in invention...

Wow, that sucks a bunch! Closed until the 5th, so THAT's the reason it couldn't be released (if it were ready)? Anyway, that's the first I heard of it, so thanks for the update. I suppose it's at least nice to know that, and not get ones hopes up for a sooner release.

I don't think that Ubi being closed will influence the release date of the patch. It was Wags himself that said in his last update on the 23 that he hoped the patch would be out before new years and he must have know that HQ was closed. In this matter i think he is all the ubi you need to release the patch. If he wants to work work between xmas and new years let him ;)

The patch will be released xx/xx/xx at midnight zulu time. That's a firm, hard, date and a cross my heart promise.

latest update from Wags:

 

Given the holiday and the Russian love of the new year festivities, I don't see any way Eagle will have the patch ready prior to the New Year. I sincerely wish it were otherwise, and if I had the coding ability I would do what ever I could to make this happen sooner. Sadly, this is out of my hands. The best I can hope for is that the developer will be able to deliver the patch shortly after the holidays. The good news is that this will give us more time for patch testing and it will help ensure a simultaneous release of localized patch versions.

The good news is that Russian new year festivities last only six weeks. :D

 

The bad new is that it can take up to six more weeks to sober up depending on the quality of the Wodka.
