winged victory by yeates

Recommended Posts

I saw a blurb on this and was thinking about reading it.

It's $17 or so for the paperback, which seems a lot, for a paperback.

Any opinions on this book?

Also, wasnt Yeates in ww1?

Outstanding contemporary book BuB, by an outstanding individual. I have read it myself at least twice and I would highly recommend it Sir.

Cheers!

Hi there:

It's on my next book list. Just finished "Flying Fury" by J. McCudden, which was great for relaying the days as they were for him as a pilot. I thought "Saggitaruis Rising" was a bit to much flowery prose, and philisophical musings, to be taken too seriously. Good book though to get the feeling for the era.

Cheers,

Yeates flew Camels with 46 Sqn through most of 1918; his Flight Leader was Donald MacLaren. His book takes you inside his head, and lets you feel the emotions, and the fear of a pilot at the Front better than any book I can think of. Absolutely required reading.

Cheers,

shredward
