duh1nonly 0 Posted August 14, 2009 • NEW OPTION TO ALLOW CRAFT TO CRASH NO IMMEDIATE EXIT (DEFAULT NOW NO EXIT) *may* help those with mission outcome issues What exactly does this mean? I installed the newest patch. No matter which option I select the game still exits me out of the fight and takes me back to the mission screen at a certain amount of damage- or upon the exact instant of impact on the ground. I don't get to see the aftermath of anything. I have been wanting since the first day I bought OFF to be able to try to land my plane after taking damage. Or to get to watch my plane spiral down. Or see the aftermath of my crash after I hit. After each option it is still kicking me out of the game IMMEDIATELY after receiving too much damage. Even when my pilot is still alive and I have control of my plane. Is that NOT what this patch note is referring to? I am confused. Thank you!
+Polovski 460 Posted August 14, 2009 It means when your craft is damaged to extreme/none controllable state normally we exit the game. The option turns that off. However it's possible it isn't working for you.

Hasse Wind 46 Posted August 15, 2009 I just lost another pilot (flak ripped off two wings) and it seems this option is not working correctly in my OFF either - the screen went black a few seconds after I lost control of my wrecked plane. Oh, and I do have the option turned on in the workshop and am using the latest minipatch. Not a major problem in any sense of the word, but maybe you could take a look at the code and see if something's wrong there.

Thanx so much OBD, really do appreciate all the extra effort.
duh1nonly 0 Posted August 15, 2009 (edited) See! Something must not be right if others have the issue as well. Is anyone having this option work for them? I looove trying to fight with my own damaged plane trying to set it down as gently as I can. But as is, I can't because the sim kicks me out, even if I still have a live pilot and control of my plane. This may not be a bog thing to others, but I always found it a lot of fun trying to land a damaged plane in MCFS3. I even spent a lot of time uninstalling and doing a full clean install of OFF + superpatch + 1.32d. I tried out the option in both OFF's QC and FS3's QC. RAF_Louvert 101 Posted August 15, 2009 Don't know for sure duh1nonly, but since installing the latest upgrades I have not been kicked out in flight, even with pretty badly damaged aircraft. However, in the four times I have landed said aircraft I AM kicked out as soon as I start rolling on the ground. It's possible however that I simply had not taken enough damage to get booted while still in flight. Cheers! Lou

Herr Prop-Wasche 7 Posted August 16, 2009 Programming is as much an art as it is a science. Sometimes even mystical and not everything can work right the first time. It's good that you made the effort and I have confidence that you will sort it out eventually. But for now, take a well deserved break.
+Polovski 460 Posted August 17, 2009 Bad news is we cannot fix it at the moment, so it will work as normal, and the button will be removed to avoid confusion. If we find a way to fix it later we will restore the button..

That doesn't sounds good!
duh1nonly 0 Posted August 18, 2009 I play every day and it is just frustrating getting kicked out of my own game when I am still in control of my plane. It happens so many times it sucks :(
