The Blues Brothers

Recommended Posts

There was a documentary about this movie on tv last week. "The Blues Brothers" really is a classic. I didn't know it until I watched the documentary, but apparently the chase scenes in Chicago were filmed at actual speeds. Those cars were racing through the streets at over 100 miles per hour!

Saturday Night Live has NEVER been as funny as when Dan Ackroyd, Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, and John Belushi were in the cast. Not even close.

One of my favorites, got the video. Never realized I like "blues" till I listened to their music. Went out and bought the soundtrack. Loved the scene where Ray Charles puts a round into the wall next to the kids' hand that was stealing the guitar. Great stuff. Going under that tram or whatever it was, when they showed the speedometer, they hit 120. Loved that part...then they make it to town hall, pull up on the sidewalk...and the car...well, I wont say, hehe. :D

Elwood: You don't like it?

Jake: No, I don't like it

Elwood: Ok. [Elwood floors the accelerator and they jump over the opening drawbridge]

Jake: Of course, its got a lot of pick up.

Elwood: Its got cop shocks, cop tyres, cop brakes, cop engine, and the engine was designed pre catalitic converters so it will run ok on regular gasl. So, what do you say ... is it the new Blues mobile.

Jake: Fix the lighter.

--------

Jake: The band Elwood, the band

Rev. James: Do you see the light?

Jake: The band,the band

Rev. James: Do you see the light?

Elwood: What Light?

Rev. James: Do you see the light?

Jake: Yes, Jesus, holy tap-dancing Christ, I see the light

Rev. James: Praise the Lord

Elwood: and God bless America

----------

Elwood: Its 106 miles to Chicago, we got a tankful of gas, its dark and we're wearing shades.

Jake: Hit it!

:D :D :D
