+Erik 1,812 Posted March 11, 2011 The skin sets will need to be rebuilt. For now I have removed them and moved everyone to the Classic skin as it's the only one I will be working on as a template for the other skins. I'll restore the other skins when I can move the changes and mods from this skin to those. I'll let everyone know as those become available again. This should resolve the issues mentioned above. Please let me know if it does not. For now I'll focus my attention on this skin set. All input is welcome. E

Von Paulus 8 Posted August 9, 2012 (edited) My Firefox spellchecker is not working since you implemented the new version. That's a serious issue for me. English is not my native language so I'm prone to errors. :) Thanks. Edited August 9, 2012 by Von Paulus
+Erik 1,812 Posted August 9, 2012 I will look into it but mine is working. This is odd.
Von Paulus 8 Posted August 10, 2012 I've tested in another computer with Firefox. And the same. I also have other extra Firefox plugins. Adblock Plus and NoScript. So I've removed them just to be sure. Still no luck. Then I run Firefox in safe mode. Nope. Changed the computer and tested with an old Firefox version (7). And it worked. Upgrade it to 12 and then to 14. And spell checker stopped working in CombatAce. In version 12 it wasn't working either. If you want me to conduct more tests please just say it. Thanks, Erik. +Erik 1,812 Posted August 10, 2012 I was able to replicate the problem. It has to do with FireFox not setting the default language. It's a problem in FireFox since 10.0.1 upgrade. Here is what you'll need to do to fix it. (See image for instructions).
Von Paulus 8 Posted August 10, 2012 (edited) Thanks Erik for replying. In CombatAce I don't have that option. Like in other forums: It's like if Firefox is not recognizing the reply box as an entry text area. Like if I was just pressing in any other ordinary frame. This happens also with one of my web mail providers. When I open a box for replying spell checker just vanishes. But in the end I cannot explain why you have it and I don't. I've uninstaled, in one of systems, every plug-in, enter in safe mode..... Edited August 10, 2012 by Von Paulus
Von Paulus 8 Posted August 10, 2012 But I've just found out that spell-checker seems to work when I want to edit a post.
Von Paulus 8 Posted August 10, 2012 Jesus! Now it's working like it should. I feel I'm in the Twilight Zone. I'll keep you informed if I notice anything else. Thanks Erik.
+Erik 1,812 Posted August 10, 2012 It's a documented issue in FireFox. If you change to another browser you won't see the problem, but it has to do with Firefox unsetting the default language during an upgrade. Once you're able to set it it appears to work. I know that I had to click around inside the box multiple times to get the proper right click dialogue to appear. I am actually able to get to two different ones in Firefox out of the same editor box. Don't know why but I am. Glad it's fixed none-the-less.
Von Paulus 8 Posted August 10, 2012 Yes, I think that I've also madly clicked several times inside the box. Maybe it was that. Hopefully it will not demand me to make any kind of ritual, like sacrificing a goat or my first first-born. Anyway it's working. Again, thanks for your support, Erik. :sohappy:
+FLOGGER23 3,063 Posted August 28, 2012 Hey Erik, for some reason, i can't follow any topic, i mean, can't get mail messages, i tried to unfollow/follow the posts but the problem persists. TIA!
+Erik 1,812 Posted August 28, 2012 I'm sure it has to do with your settings. Please review the following. This link shows you all the content on the site that you are subscribed to and following. You can remove content from this list which is very helpful if you no longer want to follow it. http://combatace.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=followed This link takes you to your personal notifications settings which I suspect is the problem. Make sure you have "email" selected for notification preferences. You should take a moment and set all your notifications options while you are setting your preferences. This link will take you to your notifications settings which allow you change how the site notifies you about content you want to stay informed about. http://combatace.com/index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=core&area=notifications I hope this helps and it should clear up your email issues. Thanks. Erik
