Southside Bucky Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 (edited) Hi guys. Just to let you know that I've uploaded a new collision sound sample I made a few days ago. A scream of terror, mixed with an almighty collision sound that kicks in when you crash to earth or with another plane. Get it here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=9778 I hope you like it. All the best. Bucky Edited August 29, 2009 by Southside Bucky Quote
+quack74 Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 It says "File not found" I cant download it. What happened? Quote
Southside Bucky Posted August 29, 2009 Author Posted August 29, 2009 Dunno...Maybe it's only available to me ATM? I 'aint had no 'file approval' notification yet, but it's had 10 or so downloads so I thought it must be available. Quote
A6Intruder Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Worked fine for me. Thank you. Best regards Quote

Southside Bucky Posted September 1, 2009 Author Posted September 1, 2009 Follow the installation instructions to the letter, then simply dive into the ground, or ram another plane. Let me know how you get on. Quote

I did both, follow the instruction and run into the ground, but i did not hear a scream. Best regards Quote
don246 Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 For what it's worth I hear the scream. Quote
Southside Bucky Posted September 2, 2009 Author Posted September 2, 2009 (edited) Glad to hear that, Don... Hi A6Intruder. My suggestion would be to go through the installation process again, making sure that those lines of text are exactly as they should be. Also make sure to delete any text section that the new ones replace. Report back will you, please? Edited September 2, 2009 by Southside Bucky Quote

I would like to know if there are other user with same problems? I checked it twice, i did as you wrote in readme and i copied all parts from there. I did not delete anything because you did not wrote anything about in your readme. In which ini i should delete what? Best regards Quote
Southside Bucky Posted September 2, 2009 Author Posted September 2, 2009 If you copied then pasted my new 'GameObjectEffect' text into the 'AIRCRAFTOBJECT.INI', then you should delete the 'GameObjectEffect section that was in there already... This bit: [GameObjectEffect] ObjectFireEffect=AircraftFireEffect ObjectFireSound= ObjectExplosionEffect=AircraftExplosionEffect ObjectExplosionSound=SmallExplosion ComponentDetachEffect=AircraftDetachComponentEffect ComponentDetachSound= ComponentShrapnelCount=0 DamageShrapnelFactor=0.0 MaxDamageShrapnelCount=0 Did you do that? Yes i did. The problem seems to be solved. I played around with my soundfile. ini for an other (Soundtrack-Mod) Mod and voila it works. Thanks for your help and for your mod. It brings in my eyes a lot of feeling to the game. Best regards and greetings to the british capital. Quote
Southside Bucky Posted September 2, 2009 Author Posted September 2, 2009 Wunderbar! I'm really pleased you like it. Quote
+quack74 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 It makes you feel bad shooting down the enemy. You almost hope their plane doesn't explode. Just Kidding! Shoot'em Up! Quote
Southside Bucky Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 Actually, if you think hearing an enemy pilot scream from too far away is a bit unrealistic, you can adjust the audible distance. Here's how: In the SOUNDLIST.INI, scroll down to the 'Scream' section. [scream] Priority=NORMAL Looped=FALSE NumBuffers=4 3DSound=TRUE DopplerEffect=FALSE MaxDist=100.000000 <---------------Rather than 100.00000 (which is 100 metres), try 50.00000 or so. MinDist=50.000000 InsideConeAngle=360 OutsideConeAngle=360 ConeOutsideVolume=0 More realistic I s'pose, but not as much fun, eh? I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Quote
+Stary Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 This little mod gives me nightmares! Seriously, nice little immersion addon now we need pilots and rear gunner falling down in their seats nevermind Quote
sockboy Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Hi Bucky, lads... This is great Bucky...Just what I was looking for..a bit sick I know but it seriously spooks me out when I hear it (I went for the high pitched sound..)..on a Sortie this morning my plane exploded mid air and the Scream was brilliant!!!!! Nice job mate...using this alongside Starys new excellent Effects pack...great stuff, especially the new Balloon explosions...still looking to get the sound of my aircraft on Fire around me when im hit in the air... All the best.... Rab Watson Fife Scotland Quote
Southside Bucky Posted September 6, 2009 Author Posted September 6, 2009 Yeah, I think it adds a bit of humanity to the game...In a macabre kinda way. It'd be good if we could find a way to add an "OOOF!", or a "URGH!", when the players pilot gets hit too, but I don't think that's possible. The old 'Red Baron 3D' game used to have that gradual 'red mist vision fade out' once your pilot took a bullet...Excellent effect that was. Anyway, thanks for the feedback guys...Always nice to hear your opinions...Good, bad or indifferent. Bucky Quote
