zxrex Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 I've downloaded the F5F from FAST CARGO and I'm having a problem with the HUD. It has 3 vertical white blocks on it. I'm not seeing this on the other planes I've been flying. I've attached a screenshot. Any one have any ideas? zxrex Quote
Silverbolt Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 dude, it seem you got something corrupted, have u tried to d/l again and replace? Quote
zxrex Posted October 12, 2009 Author Posted October 12, 2009 I'll give that a try tonight when I get home from work. Thanks Quote
+Gepard Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 I think you have not all files that are neccessary for he working HUD. Quote
ShrikeHawk Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 It looks to me like the alpha-channel in the .tga file is either missing or non-functional. So you've probably got a corrupted file. Best to download again and replace the cockpit files. OR I imagine those boxes represent the altitude ladder and the gunsight. You could try replacing them with ones from another aircraft. Quote
Caesar Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 I've got the same problem. Tried to redownload it, but to no avail. I'm looking around in the avionics.ini to see if I can't find what those parts are named. Quote
ezlead Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Look in cockpit/HUD file and see what size the TGA's or BMP's are. My machine will only read a tga or bmp if it a base 16 size (32x32,64x64,128x128,256x256 all the way to 2048 or higher or 128x?,256x?,1024x?,etc) If it is 100x?, 200x?, 400x? I get the white rectangles just like your showing. Same thing for decals and numbers. You will need a program to change the size of these tga's/bmp's. I use Paintshop Pro. Quote
zxrex Posted October 12, 2009 Author Posted October 12, 2009 I've tried reloading it. Same vertical bars in the HUD. I guess I'll try ez's idea next. Thanks for the replies Quote
+FastCargo Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 (edited) Actually folks, none of the solutions mentioned will work. I've figured out the problem...expect a new upload in the next few days. Until then, find the F-5FFRONT_DATA.INI in the F-5F directory, go inside it and look for the [AircraftData] section, and substitute the entire entry there with this: [AircraftData]DestroyedModel=F-5F_Destroyed.LOD DestroyedEffect=VehicleFireEffect EmptyMass=4410.0 EmptyInertia=43106.59,3770.14,46876.72 ReferenceArea=17.30 ReferenceSpan=8.13 ReferenceLength=14.45 ReferenceChord=2.90 CGPosition=0.00,0.00,0.00 Component[001]=EngineBox Component[002]=NoseSection Component[003]=LeftWing Component[004]=RightWing Component[005]=LeftOuterWing Component[006]=RightOuterWing Component[007]=LeftStab Component[008]=RightStab Component[009]=VertTail Component[010]=FrontSection Component[011]=RearControls Component[012]=HideSightPlane [HideSightPlane] ParentComponentName=FakeFuselage ModelNodeName=SightPlane DestroyedNodeName=SightPlane DetachWhenDestroyed=TRUE HasAeroCoefficients=FALSE Save the data.ini. That should fix the issue. FC Edited October 13, 2009 by FastCargo Quote
