The other song you hear at the beginning of the film (before Danger Zone starts) was just called the Top Gun theme was written by Harold Faltermeyer. He had another big hit with the Beverly Hills Cop song/theme Axel F.

Acutaly it was used in the movie... during one of the training flights... only a part of it though

as far as i remember it was in the movies beginning when they showed tomcat doing takeoffs and landings.

as I recall and mind you I'm gettin a lil on the old side now that the song at the begining was the Top gun anthem and merged in with Danger zone could be wrong though
