Ok, maybe you all have noticed that I am not so good with this game yet lol. My new problem is that I can fly downloaded planes, but there are never any enemy a/c. Even the F-15A from Column 5, when I select MigCAP I get no enemy a/c, and it states that I have accomplished my mission as soon as it loads up. I have the same problem with every plane I have downloaded except the F-5 and the F-14. Anyone else come across this before?

 

Another weird one: Has anyone else downloaded the A-10 from Column 5? If so, has anyone noticed it's tendency to roll to the right a little? I thought my joystick was outta whack, but all of the other planes seem to be just fine.

Well, the A-10 is an older model.

 

Secondly, which sim, what patch level, which terrain. And what years are you flying?

Oh boy lol....

 

v07.10.06 of WOV. I am not saavy enough to have gotten into terrains, so I am running the stock WOV terrain. I used to be able to dogfight with the Hornet and the FJ-4, but now that you bring that up I wonder if it is because I am not running the last patch. I stopped short because I read that the v07.10.06 has faster upload times and is more popular because of that.

 

Lastly, there is no option for selecting years when I select these planes. I have always thought that was wierd too, but maybe that's something to do with it also? This game is very confusing to me lol. I enjoy the fact that you can mod the bejesus out of it, I just wish I was better at doing it!

071006? Far as I know, unless you're a diehard multiplayer fan or a dedicated prop head, no one runs a 06 patch level install.

 

And not being able to select years? That makes even less sense...unless you are only playing custom single missions or campaigns.

Um, nope. I am talking about not being able to select the year on stock single missions. I will go ahead and install the patch to upgrade to the final version. I had hoped to fly multiplayer, but no one seems to be doing it lol. Know any squads?

I think your problem you are loading aircraft that were not in service at the cut off date in the options ini you need to manually change single mission start years to to a earlier and later dates like start 1941- end 2020. Then you can fly from ww2 or into the future.

 

 

I had a similar problem if I recall correctly when I put a few newer fighters in my WOV install

 

I also run several 06 patch level installs for special purpose uses - helicopters - props- lexxluther sky mods- Yap2- (highly recommended) and scripted ground attack missions because with that patch AI aircraft will use guided weapons on everything accept "strike" missions.
