Recommendations for a flight bag...?

Well, I'm tired of carrying all my stuff around in an unorganized, dirty, old, laptop bag. I want to protect my headset, and my terminal chart is getting torn.

 

I'm thinking about this one right now:

I want something to get me through the rest of my training, and last through my first few years after I get my license. Once I get my license, I'm assuming that I'll stick with 172's, VFR only, with some short XC trips. Based on that, I don't think I'll need (or want) something too big. If I'm staying somewhere overnight, I'll probably have a separate bag for clothes etc... anyway.

 

Things that will go in the bag:

Headset

POH

Charts

Checklist(s)

E6B

Notebook (right now it's 8 1/2" x 11", might have to get something a little smaller...)

Misc pens, calculator, etc...

 

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Well, to be honest, just about any bag will do. It doesn't specifically need to be a flight bag.

 

I use a decent laptop bag myself. Has multiple pockets. But, I don't need to carry a headset...so that will influence what you buy.

I use an assault bag from Bug Out Gear. It has a s**t ton of pockets and compartments for stuff. But like FC said, any bag will do.

I think that bag should work just fine.

that looks like a pretty decent bag. I used to use the standard helmet bag with the extra stuff either in the side pockets or where my cranium would fit.

 

I still have and use the bag for all manner of stuff hauling around on occasion.

LED Headlamp?? Never thought of this one before.
