Dutchie 0 Posted January 8, 2010 hi guys, here i´am again when i had OFF installed. my virus scan (AVG)continuesly reports a file that is dangerous for the computer ... topperGEN i believe. i know that this file is for my OFF game but my wive doesnt know that so she selected the option remove file a couple of times. Resulting for me to remove an install the game more than 5 times in the three weeks that i´ve got it now. But now by removing it for the last time, i cant get it proper installed anymore. When it is installed a can´t start the game, there is no icon on my desktop. so thats the reason for my question if there is a installation limiter on the disk? ( i hope not) regards from HOLLAND

LtCasey 0 Posted January 8, 2010 (edited) Just a little something about AVG, I've had their Internet Protection Suite for the past 4 years. Awhile back, I tried to reinstall DOOM III, couldn't. AVG had found a Virus, had to dump my AVG, install DOOM III, reinstall AVG ( that's why the extra $10 for the disc ). Never another problem, with daily manditory system scans Right after I installed BHaH, I was advised that the OFF exec. File was a Virus. This went on for about a week, everytime I started OFF. Never showing on a scan, after a week it stopped. Just recently I was repeatedly denied access to a forum I frequent, for 10 Days. AVG had detected a Trojon there, they even named the hidden Virus, upon looking up the Virus in AVG's Directory, I was told NO Such Virus Exists. I finally made Email connection with AVG, they told me, my spelling was in error. I told Hans Brinker to look for Himself. The Problem Vanished I ain't going to tell Anybody to not believe in AVG, but they ain't PERFECT PS . . I'm not re-enlisting their sevices this year Its for free, it`s save. I run it for years now. Never, ever had a virus since I use it. Best Antivirus Program Edited January 8, 2010 by LtCasey

Until now we never had a problem with that, and thats 6 years in April.
+Polovski 460 Posted January 13, 2010 AVG a while back had an issue with false report of a virus in OFF. AVG fixed it with an update apparently. BH&H will install again after you clean out all the old install folders as uncleal says, please see the FAQ.
