Hii guys! I just noticed a little problem. I dont know if this is a known bug or if i'm just imagening things.

I love to fly the CL-13B Sabre Mk.6 for the Germans. Its a wonderful jet but its not that fast. Now the game does not seem to understand this because when i check the briefing map it tells me to be on certain waypoints with a certain speed. And currently that speed is never below 800kts. Now we all know that the Sabre does not fly that fast :dntknw: Just a minute ago it wanted me to keep a speed of 1100 knots. :heat: hehe. Any ideas?

Thanx

Not sure where the game works that out from tbh - probably internal - but may take a value from the data.ini possibly - unless someone knows may be one for 3rdwire

Also depends on what type of speed its being represented as and the altitude at the wp - would probably be either IAS or TAS at a guess.

The altitude at the waypoint that said 1100 knots was 14000 feet. So if i was flying around 400 IAS then TAS would be approximately 544 knots, give or take. Dont think the Sabre was capalbe of supersonic speed in level flight. Ive heard though that i can go above mach 1 in a dive.

It is an interesting problem.

I noticed this problem while flying the saber aswel. If you skip to the next waypoint (alt+n) when you arrive at the waypoint you are doing the speed that it says IE 800+Knots.

I think that the game sets the waypoint speeds based on the cruise speed defined in the AI Data section of the data ini. Check that value for correct speed in meters per second.

Do you mean the X_data.ini file, x beeing the name of the jet? If so i cant find an AI part in there. Maybe im searching in the wrong ini file.

These are the only entries with "speeds" i found.

[FlightControl]

StallSpeed=53.83

CruiseSpeed=405.00

ClimbSpeed=243.2

CornerSpeed=150.74

MaxG=8.00

MaxSpeedSL=317.4

MachLimit=0.95

PitchDamper=0.25

RollDamper=0.0

YawDamper=0.0

GunBoresightAngle=0

RocketBoresightAngle=1.6

Sorry, I'm a bit rusty. I should have said Flight Data, not AI Data. But here is the problem:

CruiseSpeed=405.00

405 meters per second is 787.3 knots.

Change this value to 192.9 for a 375 knot cruise speed. The actual cruise speed for best fuel efficiency would vary based on many factors, including altitude and armament, but this should be close enough--you can play with the value until you find a speed you are happy with.

Ahh! Thank you =) Now German Sabre missions are a GO again :drinks:
