Akmatov 1 Posted February 19, 2010 In my ventures into OFF I have killed off a couple of characters. How can I delete them out of OFF so I don't clog up the directory with corpses? I looked and the files in the 'characters' folder must have come with the program as they were no anything I had invented.

Akmatov, go to the pilot dossier from main menu and cycle through your pilots. To delete a pilot click retire.
Olham 164 Posted February 20, 2010 Akmatov and all - the deletion of pilot can lead to CFS3 problems, I assume, when you don't do it like this: You go to a dead pilot and click on "retire". Then, right after that, you go to "enlist a new pilot", and create one. Do that with all you want to delete. Because: Every pilot has a number. When he is shown in your log as Pilot No.3, he is actually pilot4 in the pilot files. Now, when you delete one without creating a new one, the whole order of numbers can get mixed up for CFS3 files. I am not sure, that this is a fact, but I used to have trouble sometimes, when only a "CFS3 reset" would help (which means the loss of all pilots!). Since I do it in the above way, I didn't have such problems anymore.
