+Olham Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 What do you think happened? Did he push the brakes too hard?
carrick58 Posted October 17, 2010 Author Posted October 17, 2010 What do you think happened? Did he push the brakes too hard? someone further down in the log stated that " the brakes were locked as in a mechanical failure ".
+Olham Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 A real pity - hopefully, the engine is still okay.
Cameljockey Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 IIRC the whole engine will have to be subjected to NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) before it can be recertified. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ May be more cost effective to replace it.
+RAF_Louvert Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 . Well, at least they walked away from it, which makes it a good landing. BTW, the Stearman was the very first plane I ever flew in, at about age 10 or so. Been a fan of flying ever since. .
