These numbers vary greatly, but should give you an idea of what to expect;

Actually, for an aircraft, especially a jet trainer, that's not bad. L-39s have gotten popular lately with the well heeled crowd because of the relatively low costs. However, owning a plane is like owning a boat...unless you're out there everyday, you'll never get as much out of it as you put into it emotionally. That's why fractional ownership plans are so popular, especially in the bizjet crowd.

Going with the cost of $4.25/gallon of Jet-A, that's 82 gal/550 lbs/hr.

Whoa, didn't realize Jet A had gotten that high. Heck, now I'm thinking that cost per hour is on the low side...

The Albatros was designed as a training bird, not as a combat aircraft. Main focus was safety, reliability and cost efficency. Its a good buy.

Jet is probably closer to $5, but it depends on what kind of rate you get. Right now I think we're selling 100LL for $5.25, and Jet-A isn't too far behind.

 

Nevermind, just saw our prices on flightaware.com.... jet is $5.48/gal, $5.52 w/prist.

I saw a documentary here in germany over the T-38 in civilian hands, how much they spend on it for maintanance and fuelcost and consumtion with full afterburner! It was impressive!
