Original German Goggles at Ebay

"Daisy"? It was "Hänschen klein" - I'm sure it was "Hänschen klein"* he sang!

You love good films, eyh, Lou? (Me too - I have told whole films I liked to friends,

and after they'd seen them later, they would mostly say: everything was exactly like you said!

*One of the best known German child-songs

Olham, I am guessing that in "2001 - Odyssee im Weltraum" it was "Hänschen klein". But in "2001: A Space Odyssey" it is "Daisy". You must have seen the German version.

It's good that Finnish is such a minor language that it's not worth the money to dub films and series into it. We get to see everything in the original language with subtitles. It would feel very strange to me to hear American or German characters speaking my own language in a movie.

By the way, Arthur C. Clarke and Stanley Kubrick denied that HAL was IBM. But who knows...

Lou, I should have added a smiley - it didn't come across: this was a joke.

Hasse Wind, I wonder to hear they should have denied it?

There is a scene, where you can see a little IBM logo on the command desc of the space shuttle.

...hee hee...it's that German sense of humor Olham, it's like the Spanish Inquisition, and NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition! Their chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise.... their two weapons are fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency.... their three, three weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...and...

I just ran across the following goggles on eBay:

Old Goggles on eBay

Apart from the little brass vent grommets on the ones in Olham's original post I'd say these are the same type, vintage, and manufacturer, right down to the storage case. Only real difference is the price, and the claim of where each came from.

Buyer beware!

Yeah, a lot of tricks are played on those who don't REALLY know their details.

If you buy expensive, rare items, let "love for them" be your engine - never "greed for having them".

Looking them again, closely and I confirm they are soviet type of cyclist goggles...

or Chinese copies as the second listing claims... :dntknw:

The German googles in the post # 5 picture look way more modern than that anyway.
