Olham 164 Posted January 11, 2011 I have recently used "Auto Trim" on my Fokker Dr. 1, and when I warped and got "kicked out" of warp by enemy aircraft, the craft pushed down it's nose vertically. With the Albatros, I had used manual trimming before. There it also happened, but the other way round - the fighter reared up dangerously. Sometimes I could not stop that in time, and the notorious lower wings broke. I believe, that behaviour results from previous trimming. Anyone else noticed that? Hasse Wind 46 Posted January 11, 2011 I never use auto trim, so I can't comment that, but warp can sometimes do strange things. That's why I always keep the flight map on when warping so that I can exit warp if something goes wrong (like getting off-course hundreds of kilometres and dying because the fuel runs out). 77Scout 3 Posted January 11, 2011 I recall a long tome back a few people reporting their plane would go out of control exiting warp, and it was traced to the use of auto-trim. I don't know if it is a universal thing or just a quirk that some people get and others don't (I don't use auto-trim or warp) ... perhaps others know and can report. RAF_Louvert 101 Posted January 11, 2011 . AUTO TRIM!? (gasp) SACRILEGE! Holy water, and quickly! We must exorcise Herr Olham of this evil spirit. .
Olham 164 Posted January 11, 2011 (edited) Bordeauxred Baron: "Mmuahahahahahaaaaa!!!! Vee from ze Dark Side can use Auto-trim, vee do Worp, vee hav fuel manadgement ant paint our aircraft colourfully; vee eat fat mealz ant drink too mutch; in one word - vee hav fun! Ant vee shall vin ze war! Mmuahahahahahahahaaaaa!!!!!!" (If I had a Werkmeister in OFF, I would trim the craft with him, but as I don't, I mostly trim per "Elevator trim key". Recently I used Auto-trim - I wanted to see what it can do on an instabke craft like the Fokker Dr. 1. And it worked quite well - until I warped.) Burning Beard 14 Posted January 11, 2011 The Auto Trim Warp Bug, it'll getcha every time. If you warp, make sure you disengage Auto Trim first. Another thing to remember is to adjust the mixture before you warp because it maybe set for the airfield when you pop out of warp at 10,000 Ft, then you have to get the engine started again, which isn't always easy. DonL 0 Posted January 12, 2011 I don't use trim but on rare occasion when exiting warp my Pup comes out in a nose high attitude but with very high speed ( I get the warning exceeding structural limits). I have also experienced being warped out to sea and extremely far behind enemy lines but these things happen very rarely. I also use auto mixture. I think that this is just a quirk of the game. I lost one pilot when my flight was warped deep behind enemy lines and then ran out of fuel. After that I've always kept the map on so I can keep an eye on the warp's process. Never had any problems after that. And fortunately the warp problems are very rare.
Wodin 0 Posted January 12, 2011 (edited) The planes rear up dangerously if your on escort duty....always does it then... I drop the throttle and make sure I'm pushing the nose down during warp so when I come out I'm ready for it... I dont use trim so it's definately due to escorting...seems like its.trying to slow down for the bombers or something... never had the nose down though...
