I would like to ask for help with the map that you have reacted for DS. as I would like to change it so we can have one before the war started so I can make some mission of the war that took please the day of the Iraqi invasion to Kuwait. therefore I would like you if you can chare with me the . Wrench 9,846 Posted January 15, 2011 Unfortunately, I'm not rebuilding that map; there are no plans for the forseeable future to do so. Unless mandated by a Higher Authority (ie: who ever is running the Upgrade Team). I'm in the middle of 5 terrains (well, 3 are working, 1 finished, but awaiting a new tile set, and the last needs a slight retile and fix a city/airport that dont' belong where I put it -oops!) The ARE many errors in it -- everything between the Saudi/Kuwait border, excepting Kuwait City itself and al-Kafji, and the Kuwait/Iraqi border -- are COMPLETLY wrong. Umm Qsar is in the wrong place (as you probably know!), the K/I border-bridge station, probably even as far north as Basra ... all need redoing. The oil field near Kuwait City is misplaced; Ali al Salem AFB, KC International, are missing; detaililng at all the ports, etc, the list can be extensive. To say nothing of the VERY displaced Iraqi GCI stations that are in Iran!!! When we built it, a lot of detailing in Kuwait itself was left out due to map scaling issues, improper Real World data used (that's on me!), and other factors, mostly because the campaing focused on the Storm itself, and not the Shield, or the invasion. You can use the Desert texture list; HOWEVER --be advised the stock texture list is only 68 tiles long, and if you look in the data ini, you'll see it calls for 71 tiles ... you'll need to add those missing 3 TOO the texturelist ini, or the map will be all screwed up. wrench kevin stein Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
umm 84 Posted January 15, 2011 Thanks Kevin, Thant is one of my reasons to redo the map as I know what you have states is correct. I will try redoing the map myself but one thing is the tilts that have been used to make the map is not correct for example the trees and the farm area has too many agitation green in it. What do I do when adding the missing texture do I add it to the end or i need to organize them as I have listed?
