Olham 164 Posted January 25, 2011 Well, I also don't see any big difference between "normal res" and "high res". Strange is, that you have a different card altogether, than elephant has. I have no idea, what it can be. I would probably try different setting in my ATI Catalyst Control. Different AA and Adaptive AA etc. Sorry, I'm helpless. Olham 164 Posted January 25, 2011 One last hint, in case you missed this post - here are my graphic setup details. Check all these and perhaps try them identically, Wodin. And maybe they help you too, elephant? http://combatace.com/topic/60374-an-easy-pictorial-guide-graphics-setup/page__view__findpost__p__452080
Wodin 0 Posted January 26, 2011 Now you've been and looked...just check see if you get bullet holes anymore...do you have HitR? I have not sure if thats the problem.
Olham 164 Posted January 26, 2011 Me? Yes, I still get bulletholes. I have HitR installed.
Creaghorn 10 Posted January 26, 2011 The sound tweak never worked properly for me in the MODS folder using JGSE... you have to manually add it... @Creaghorn I'm using the latest...it was happening before I used it...also thanks for your hdr mod...I had to alter it a little to brighten things up a touch but it makes a difference. the mod was never intended to work with JGSE. at that time i didn't even know what JGSE is. if it would work with it, fine, but actually my mod is a copy and paste thing . i'm glad the glitch has obviously nothing to do with HPW's mod . maybe it is a ATI thing? +elephant 36 Posted January 26, 2011 I know, I've created the appropriate folder sequence so it can be enabled via JSGME... Essential Mod indeed Creaghorn, Thanks! And Herr Olham, thanks a million! Problem solved...
Olham 164 Posted January 26, 2011 Really? Hey, that great to hear! Have fun, elephant!
Wodin 0 Posted January 26, 2011 Elephant are you saying those settings fixed the problem? I shall go try them.
Wodin 0 Posted January 26, 2011 Hurrah...worked for me aswell...just played and it's like a whole new game...not only loads of damage that I'm not used to but seems the planes drop out the sky better aswell. Thanks Olham...
Olham 164 Posted January 26, 2011 Always a pleasure to be able to help, boys. Now, if you both could remember, what exactly made the difference, it might help others too?
Wodin 0 Posted January 26, 2011 (edited) I'm going to test it out later see what was causing it...I reckon it will be one of the D3D settings... Turned buffers back on and still have damage so it must be the D3D settings. Edited January 26, 2011 by Wodin
+elephant 36 Posted January 27, 2011 Well, unfortunately I got many crashes with the new settings...not only game crashes but computer ones as well, (blue screen twice)... So I went back to my old settings...Everything looks brilliant, now I can see the difference between Normal and High but afaik no "soft" damade any more...never mind no big deal. I may retry to fiddle with the Graphics Conf. again tommorow...
Wodin 0 Posted January 27, 2011 (edited) elephant strange you should get crashes...I have narrowed it down to the D3D settings...It has to be one of the aircraft D3D settings...so why not just change the aircraft D3D settings and see how it goes? You can turn the buffers back on. Blue screen? Your PC isn't overheating is it? Is it overclocked? Not sure how settings in a game can give you blue screen crash when not playing it.... +elephant 36 Posted January 27, 2011 OK, I set Composite Aircraft Texture Pool to 3D3POOL_MANAGED and Composite Aircraft Texture Usage to 3D3USAGE_RENDERTARGET I got back the "soft" damage and my visuals are great. Must have been the changes to my graphic card configuration that caused the mess up. Now I've reverted to my former settings all seems fine.
Wodin 0 Posted January 27, 2011 (edited) Sure your card isn't overheating? I always have my fan going at 100% on my card...bit noisey but I don't trust the software to manage it properly. Oh by the way turning the buffers off droped my FPS a fair bit...turned them back on. Good to see it's working well...nice isn't it to see the damage? Olham 164 Posted January 27, 2011 (edited) Thanks for the info, Wodin - I will try "Buffers on" myself to see if it will make a difference for me too. Too make sure: did you tick or untick the boxes in front of "Buffers"? Edited January 27, 2011 by Olham
