+FOTF Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Hey all, are there any big mouth Vipers out there for SF2? All I can find are NSI equipped A's....would REALLY love to fly a modern CJ Quote
+MigBuster Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Mirage Factory did show an F-16C but no word on whether it was GE or PW powered. There might be an old model with the big mouth in the SF1 section - Block 30/40/50/60 are GE birds - but Mirage Factory/thirdwire models are F-16A only. Quote
+sony tuckson Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 the only C viper we started (and will eventually release) is an early block 25 with PW engine, early inlet thus We have no plans at this time to proceed further Life took a heavy toll on several of us, preventing us for working as we'd love to but we will release more work Oliver started. 1 Quote
+daddyairplanes Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 there is a Blk 50/52 C model in Gen 1 that converts fairly nicely to Gen2 if ya gotta have one. Pit seems to need some love though and there are some holes (white spots) in the model now showin up in the tailplane right on the pivot point. and i cant get the @!#$ing HTS pod to show on its station! Does that include both the Block 50 Big mouth for the GE engine and Block 52 small mouth for the PW engine? Quote

Its because the station has the wrong allowed weapon class. The HTS is listed as an NP in the Wep Editor. Change the HTS_Mount station AllowedWeaponClass=EP to: AllowedWeaponClass=NP Should work fine after that. -S Quote
Guest Pfunk Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 You could concievably use the stock Netz to make C-model Block 25 because externally, they're identical to the A-model. You'd have to do some fancy stuff with the cockpit, but that wouldn't be terribly hard. Quote
Vampyre Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 (edited) You could concievably use the stock Netz to make C-model Block 25 because externally, they're identical to the A-model. You'd have to do some fancy stuff with the cockpit, but that wouldn't be terribly hard. Not exactly, heres a quote from F-16.net on the block 25 Vipers- Externally, the F-16C is almost identical to the F-16A. The only significant external difference is the introduction on the F-16C of an enlarged triangular base or "island" on the rear fuselage leading up to the vertical fin, with a small blade antenna protruding upward from it. This extra space was originally intended to house the Westinghouse/ITT AN/ALQ-165 ASPJ (Airborne Self-Protection Jammer) that is used on Navy aircraft. The USAFs ASPJ program became mired in controversy in 1989-90, followed by the USAF's withdrawal from the project in January 1990. As a result, the ASPJ was never fitted in USAF F-16s. The "island" is one of the major distinguishing feature of the F-16C/D and E/F from the F-16A/B Vipers. The big mouthed Vipers can be further distinguished by the GE F-110 exhaust nozzle and the larger intake, hence the name "Big Mouth Vipers". Additionally, the stock TW F-16A Netz is a standard Block 10 Viper which means that it has the small chord tailplanes as well. If these details are not an issue then by all means have fun with it... Personally, I'd never keep it in my aircraft selection though. Edited March 28, 2011 by Vampyre Quote
+MigBuster Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Spot on Vampyre - the F-16 got larger tail Elevons/stabilizers from Block 15 on. The Netz were bought as Block 1/5/10 type and thus had the smaller Elevons The F-16E looks to have an island more bulbous and probably larger then the F-16C - whereas the F-16D originally had a tail similar to the C but later blocks seem to have eradicated the island and used a full length dorsal spine (F-16I/F/D+). +daddyairplanes Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 @ Storm thanks for the heads up on the HTS. are all targeting pods listed as Nav pods or just HTS? just curious @ MigBuster there is both Blk 50 and 52 available in the download. says so in the post. i see someone who doesnt read the whole readme! +ST0RM Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 I've only found the HTS to be listed as Nav Pods. The other pods (LiteningIII, Sniper, etc...) are LP. Glad it worked. -Jeff Quote
