For whatever reason the sim does not show the RAF squadrons after the April 1, 1918 merger of the RFC and RNAS. You both gave excellent answers with good additional information. Dej 17 Posted May 4, 2011 Oh, alright... 1. Bruno Loerzer 2. Jasta 26, early 1917 3. Hermann Göring Loerzer receved the PLM in February 1918, simultaneously taking command of JGIII and in Fokker D.VIIs putting the fear of God into allied squadrons in the summer of '18. He remained friends with Hermann Göring and became a Major General in 1938. He had an eventful life: His II Air Corps participated in the invasion of Russia in the summer of 1941, as a section of Kesselring's 2nd Air Fleet -- in support of Fieldmarshall von Bock. His unit was transferred to Messina, Sicily in October 1941, and he remained there until the middle of 1943, when his section returned to the Italian mainland. Göring promoted Loerzer to Generaloberst in February 1943 and in June 1944 was chief of the National Socialist Leadership Branch of the Luftwaffe. He retired in April 1945. Died in 1960, aged 69. From what I gathered Bruno was CO of Jasta 26, and then was CO of JG III in August of '18 The DRI in Jasta 26 was used from early April to June 17th, I'm not sure that the DRI of Bruno's went with his transfer of command, they were flying DVII's soon afterwards though. There were a number of variations in the N 17's, including a tricolor spinner off one of the Albatros' he shot down and an N17 with an upper wing with camo instead of silver. 19 Palms. It is indeed Georges' N17, and as it is #1531 it is his second one which places it in the time period you noted, (this is also the one that had the Alb spinner you mentioned, but that feature is not modelled in OFF). However, you missed on the number of palms Capitaine Guynemer ended up with on his Croix de Guerre, so that one is still up for grabs for another contestant. Two more points for you Lewie! Javito, I just did a Google image search for 'Guynemer N17' and several photos of his planes pop up, one showing the above craft with the spinner fitted.
