There's nothing one can do in that case (and that goes for bomb-release and counter-measures as well). All sound effects must be associated with a coded event, and there's no such event for tank-release.

Fubar i`ve learned a lot from you about sounds, what if you "borrow" the lines for the missile ejects, would that do it, i might be asking something dumb, but it`s something i haven´t tested and i`m pretty sure you did...

That's a completely different event, and will not work unless you redesignate the drop tank a "missile" (and accept the fact that it will now no longer serve as a fuel tank).

Then what is the Sound Name section for then? Also, there is a BombRelease sound but it is never used from my experience; why is that? I was thinking about using that sound for the fuel tanks.

For adding sounds to coded events

That's been broken since the initial release of SFP1, back in November of 2002. The developer (TK) stated many years ago that he never finished coding it, and did not intend to, as he had bigger fish to fry, at the time.

BTW, all development work stopped on the first gen with the release of the '08 patch, and the WoI-Suez add on.

One last question.

What are the coded events?

Missile launch sounds, guns, explosion events, engine & afterburner sounds, flaps, landing gear, airbrakes, landing sounds, RWR tones, the IRM search & acquistion tones, etc....to name a few
