Balloon Busting question

What are the goals of balloon busting. I shoot the balloon down and all the others on the horizon but still I get goals failed?

Neither would I if I didn't have the easiest settings on.

For balloon busting, you just have to shoot down the one observation balloon that you are told to, but you must have your wingman with you the whole time. If he is killed on the way home, as far as I know it will say the Goals Failed message. Might want to get that confirmed though.

Thanks for the suggestions but something is still wrong. A quick scenario of balloon busting. I follow the tac lines to the balloon. I get there with my wingmen and signal attack. The message appears saying something like "arrived at task point". I shoot the balloon down and await the next waypoint on the tac display. It doesn't come. I fly around and around the balloon location until eventually some enemy arrive. I dogfight and at some point the message says "task failed". I have no idea how to complete this. If I select "end mission" I crash behind enemy lines. If I head towards the next waypoint the line just grows longer behind me. I even tried shooting up the balloons spotters but that is real hard and doesn't do anything. Is it a bug or am I missing something I am suppose to do. This is also how it happend when I had a balloon mission in the campaign.

Once the balloon is destroyed, just press Shift+W to generate the next waypoint, should head you back toward your home base. You sometimes get the same deal with airfield or railyard raids. Just do what you need to do and then Shift+W when you're ready to leave.

Sometimes you need to bring your wingmen home too, if they die mission failed but yes get out of there once the balloon is down.
