Panzer Corps it's a WW2 turn based wargame, in a beer and pretzels style. It's source of inspiration was SSI's Panzer General, which ended up in being a classic PC game.

For those who want to try out, there's a demo version, in English and German (that's for you Olham).

This is the only game that I've been playing in the last 4 months. It's addictive and funny.

Here are some links to download the demo:

Thank you, Von Paulus, I've just lost 2 hours of my life :wink2:

It's easy to lose the sense of time. That was the feeling of Panzer General. It's just one more turn, and when you look it's 3 o'clock in the morning.

Did you find it hard? At what level did you played? Have you ever played Panzer General?

I've never played Panzer General and, yes, I did find it quite hard. I'm still trying to get through the 3rd tutorial

Although completely different, for me, it has a similar "feel" to an old board game called TriTactics.

Just got the demo yesterday. It seems pretty good and follows the Slitherine formula of move-shoot-repair-end. The hard part is to try to avoid clicking on the wrong place and demanding a "do over" I've finished the first two missions in the training scenario. I may just have to get this one for the holidays. It'll give me something to do when I finish taking over the known world in Total War: Medieval 2 (I picked that one up two weeks ago (for $2.75!)

Panzer Corps it's on sale until 8th January. 50% cut in the price.

And don't think that the game ends with vanilla campaign. You've multiplayer, mods and now extra DLC.

On the third scenario, don't forget to use the Bridge Engineers Unit over the river hexe.

For once, Matrix (and Slitherine) are selling a new game at a low price. Typically you'll have to wait at least one year to see any kind of drop in the price. And yeah, Panzer Corps is very addictive. It's important to set your expectations to the correct level, though. It's not an ultra-realistic, hardcore simulation of operational warfare, but more like chess with much more interesting units and rules. If you like that, it's one of the best wargames available now.

Right as usual, Hasse. :good:

The problem is that, since downloading the demo, my computer hasn't had the chance to cool down. If you like this kind of game then it's very addictive. I could end up buying it.

You're not alone, tranquilo.

Between modding and playing there's not much time for the rest.

We already have some mods avaialable. Namely Afrika Korps mod, new campaigns, cosmetic mods and the Grand Campaign DLC, which when completelly finished it will have around 80 scenarios.
