Geary Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Hi all, I did this a couple years back and thought there is a post in the KB on how to do this, but can't seem to find it. Also lost my notes. I tried to install a campaign that requires planes from WOI be placed in WOE. I copied the planes folders over to WOE and extraced all the lod's and other plane files from the objectsdata.cat file and placed them in the separate plane folders. Also made sure all weapons are in weaponsdata.ini. Planes don't show up in single missions. What did I not do or do wrong?? Can anyone point me to the KB on this? Thanks, Geary Quote
+Wrench Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 (edited) you got all the inis, too, right??? (***.ini, _data.ini, _avionics.ini, _loadout ini, _cockpit.ini, etc) you'll need everything associated with that aircraft it's like when we were importing the SF1 F-104G into WoV, we had a whole "parts list" (posted below, as an example) double check you've got everything, and the allowed dates fit. .../F-104g/ F-104_1_HOLES.TGA F-104_2_HOLES.TGA F-104_3_HOLES.TGA F-104_3_SHREDDED.TGA F-104_4_HOLES.TGA F-104_4_SHREDDED.TGA F-104G.INI F-104G.LOD F-104G_AVIONICS.INI F-104G_COCKPIT.INI F-104G_DATA.INI F-104G_HANGAR.BMP F-104G_LOADOUT.BMP F-104G_LOADOUT.INI F-104G_LOD002.LOD F-104G_LOD003.LOD F-104G_LOD004.LOD F-104G_LOD005.LOD F-104G_SHADOW.SHD F-104G_SHREDDED_INSIDE.TGA .../F-104g/Cockpit/ f104radar.bmp F-104_ATTITUDE.BMP F-104_GAU1.BMP F-104_GAU2.BMP F-104_GAU3.BMP F-104_GAU4.BMP F-104_GAU5.BMP F-104_GAU6.BMP F-104_PIT1.BMP F-104_PIT2.BMP F-104_PIT3.BMP F-104_RADARMODE.TGA F-104_WARN.TGA F-104G_COCKPIT.LOD F-104G_RANGEBAR.TGA F-104G_ROLLTABS.TGA F-104G_SIGHT.TGA F-104REFLEC1.TGA F-104REFLEC2.TGA HUDGLASS.TGA HUDGLASSTOP.TGA HUDGLASS.TGA HUDREFLECTION.TGA .../F-104g/D/ (if your skin uses any stock ac numbers you will need to mod the decals.ini) F104G_SQTAILXXX.tga F104G_SQTAIRXXX.tga F104FUSENUMXXX.TGA F104TAILNUMXXX.TGA For the F-104 Tanks ...Objects/Weapons/ Weapondata.ini (<---) weapondata.dat (<--- these may not be necessary) Droptank_f-104.bmp TANK170L_F104.INI TANK170L_F104.LOD TANK170L_F104_LOD002.LOD TANK170R_F104.INI TANK170R_F104.LOD TANK170R_F104_LOD002.LOD TANK195_F104.INI TANK195_F104.LOD TANK195_F104_LOD002.LOD Add the following to the Weapondata.ini [WeaponData0XX] TypeName=Tank170_F104 FullName=170-gal Drop Tank ModelName=tank170l_f104 Mass=605.559998 Diameter=0.475000 Length=5.572000 AttachmentType= NationName= StartYear=0 EndYear=0 Availability=0 BaseQuantity=0 Exported=FALSE ExportStartYear=0 ExportAvailability=0 WeaponDataType=5 MaxFuelAmount=501.230011 Asymmetrical=TRUE RightModelName=tank170r_f104 [WeaponData0XX] TypeName=Tank195_F104 FullName=195-gal Drop Tank ModelName=tank195_f104 Mass=655.450012 Diameter=0.480000 Length=5.660000 AttachmentType= NationName= StartYear=0 EndYear=0 Availability=0 BaseQuantity=0 Exported=FALSE ExportStartYear=0 ExportAvailability=0 WeaponDataType=5 MaxFuelAmount=574.710022 Asymmetrical=FALSE EVERYTHING has to go into the main /Aircraft/Name-of-Aircraft folder (except any weapons/drop tanks) Edited February 5, 2012 by Wrench Quote
ezlead Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Just a guess. Make sure you have a cockpit folder with the aircraft folder even if there is nothing in it. Make sure aircraft folder is exact same name as aircraft.ini file.(Ex. F-104g F-104g.ini) Quote
Geary Posted February 5, 2012 Author Posted February 5, 2012 Wrench, Looking at your lengthy list... I MIGHT have missed a couple of items. Looks like this may take longer than I'd hoped, but should be worth the effort. Thanks, again, Geary ezlead, Good point. I'll look closer at that. Thanks, Quote
+Wrench Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 easiset way, just extract the entire Objects.cat, and look for anything with the associated name. Which aircraft, exactly, are you trying to import??? Quote
Geary Posted February 6, 2012 Author Posted February 6, 2012 Wrench, I imported the Super MystereB2, VautourIIA and MystereIVA from WOI to WOE. I put cockpits in them and they work in WOE. I put them back in WOI to activate them there, and only 1 works. I suspect that's because I used the F-100.LOD from WOE to get two of the cockpits working. The cockpit that works in WOI was a complete cockpit set. Been working all day to activate the MiG-21's in SF Gold. Can't seem to get a MiG-21 cockpit where the pilots sit in the seat and not behind it. Any idea which numbers in which file get changed to move the pilot forward in a seat? The MiG-21 cockpits here all place the pilot behind the seat in SF Gold. Suspect it's just an old game quirk. I think most of the cockpits were built around WOE, WOI or WOV. I also keep losing the weapons if I make any changes to any airplane ini files. Go figure. Quote
+Wrench Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 (edited) That's a common problem ... ther's no Huns in WoI, so you'll need all it's cockpit bits the FishFix is easy it's not a cockpit issue, but a DATA ini issue ... extract the newest data ini for each model (meaning all of them), drop them into their respective /Aircraft folders, and like magic the pilots should appear in front of their seats, now cowering behind them like the cheesy candy-ass commies they are (btw, that should be coverd in the 08 patch "Things To Change" thread in the KB ... the 08 patch made some small but significant changes in lods and inis) the section you're looking for is .... (08 21MF shown) [Pilot] SystemType=PILOT_COCKPIT PilotModelName= SetCockpitPosition=TRUE Position=0.0,2.83,0.85 <---this line MinExtentPosition=-0.30, 2.37, 0.05 MaxExtentPosition= 0.30, 3.42, 1.05 HasArmor=TRUE ArmorMaterial=GLASS Armor[FRONT].Thickness=62 CanopyNodeName=Canopy CanopyAnimationID=4 Vatour should use the F-4B pit, as it got twin-engine 'steam gauges', even if the radar is slightly wrong. In a pinch, you can use the MirageIII pit for it. For the Mystres, you can always swap in the TMF Mirage5 pit, as it has no radar, and is very French looking. Yes, I think outside the box!!!
