+Olham Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 I think I've seen this drawing posted before, but years ago - so here it is again: Jasta 11 aces, portraied by artist Arnold Busch. The artist made many other drawings in the Great War - see here: http://www.greatwardifferent.com/Great_War/German_Artists/Busch_01.htm
+RAF_Louvert Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 . Olham, here is another of his well-known MvR sketches: .
+Olham Posted February 20, 2012 Author Posted February 20, 2012 Another great drawing - thank you, Lou ! Could it have been you, who posted the first pic earlier?
NS13Jarhead Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 (edited) Great drawings. Believe it or not, we still send artists to combat zones to draw pictures. I've worked with several of them. The two most recent that I know are Chief Warrant Officer Mike Fay and Staff Sergeant Kristopher Battles. Here's one of SSgt Battles' portraits of Marines waiting for a mission... And one by CWO Fay, also of Marines waiting, but in a diferent context Edited February 20, 2012 by NS13Jarhead
UK_Widowmaker Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 There's something special, one can see captured in artwork, that can never be duplicated with a camera
