Warp interaction with map

Recommended Posts

:dntknw: During a mission, I decided to use the "Shift + W" keys to warp to next location. I did this several times and each time I brought up the in flight map to see where I was.

What I noticed was that the map did not get updated with my current position.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I for one am not too concerned with this and it may not be an issue in "P2".

Best Regards;

When I use "Warp", I always bring up the map first; then I press the "Warp" command.

That way I always see the little aircraft symbol wandering along the lines.

For me it works as it should.

rjw, not sure what you mean but shift+W is change heading to "Next waypoint" i.e. not Warp? But if you mean you changed to the next waypoint and then warped, there is the occasional glitch in CFS where you head off to the blue yonder and waypoints break but no idea if that is what you saw. Either way I doubt it's never going to happen again. Put it down to getting lost on patrol I guess. Otherwise maybe you shift+W too many times and ended up back in the middle of the map (rotated through the waypoints?).

Thanks Polovsky;

You are correct. I guess I hit the occasional glitch scenario.

Thanks for your Observations.:good:

Having been lost over the Ardennes a few times I must say I use warp with trepidation. I've been using it lately similarly to Olhams suggestion above (flipping on map and then warping) and have managed to avoid the surprise trip so far. I'm just happy OFF doesn't have an 'Otherworld' like the ancient microsoft FS WWI scenario did where you could fly off the combat zone, over the mountains into an etherworld, maintain the same heading for a few minutes and heypresto another combat zone...spooky. :yikes:

When you see in the map that your warp goes wrong, you can stop it by (see "Controls" for the key).
