Aquire visual targhet

Hi I have a question about the aquire visual targhet , I have understand when I have on my hud the red box of the enemy, I can swicht shift-ins for aquire this targhet and add the yellow box

but nothing happened, I have to swicht ins for select targhet, why the aquire visual targhet doesn't work ? I' m on the same flight line of the enemy no upper or down the radar might work right.

All it does is allow you to padlock the enemy target, I think you're expecting a padlock? If so then press F4 and then you'll padlock him (default keyboard configuration)

are you in the range of the missile you have selected ? if not you wont get the Lock on and no firing solution.
