I remember doing a mod of the WOE campaign that added this capability. That was a tough campaign....

Yep they often flew off of LPH/LHA's

Without a hook, that looks like fun!

 

The picture above shows a couple of catapults - so a full size CV. An LPH/LHA would have certainly have the deck space too.

They sem to jump off the runway on land, good head wind and a ship steaming I'm sure the leaped into the air off the carriers.

If it can do this on land it can do it at sea. Wow what a sports car of a plane.

Had a good bud of mine who used to fly them. Said they were a hoot...in some ways just as fun as the T-38s, A-7s, A-10s and F-16s he flew later.
