Typhoon Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Well after reading Tranquillo's post it seems my surgery was a walk in the park. It has been 7 weeks and after the initial blood pressure problems my convalescence is proceeding pretty well as scheduled. The biggest problem is lack of stamina and a general feeling of lethargy. Only other problem is that the incision on my wrist where they removed an artery for my by-pass has become infected. It is red, swollen and sore to the point of not letting me use a joystick. Other than that I should be fit for full duty within a week or so. Save some Huns for me. Tony Quote
+Major Lee Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Welcome back! Best wishes for a full recovery!! Quote
HumanDrone Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 You should've told them you were a "simmer" so they could take the artery from somewhere else! Seriously, though, take care and welcome back! Hope you come out better than ever! Quote
+Olham Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) Tony, I'm glad to hear you are recovering, Sir! Surgery today is a lot different to what it was 30 years ago. But still, the surgery on a vital organ like the lungs or the heart are not really cakewalks. Not even for 25 year old people - at that age I had a lung surgery and know how I felt after that. But I'm still here, and recovered from all that - even if it took some time. And so will you, Tony - step by step, week for week. Don't give in to the lethargy - I know I had it too - move your body around, use your muscles a bit every day, and soon you will feel stronger and stronger. All the best for a good recovery, Tony - speedy or not. Edited August 8, 2012 by Olham Quote
Beanie Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Speedy recovery, but as Olham has said - step by step. Quote
