LightningIII Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I've been working on messing around with F-22 and F-35 cockpits and I'm a little perplexed by the cockpit file. How does one add instruments to a cockpit? For example, on the F-35 pit, I want to add a compass/steer point indicatior over the moving map display. I was hoping that I would find xyz coordinates or something in the cockpit ini but I can't figure it out. Any help appreciated. Quote
+Stary Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 to add things like new gauges or displays to a cockpits one must have the original Max file, so it's not possible to the end-user one thing that's possible via .ini file manipulations is to remove/hide some parts of the cockpit or reposition some parts of it slightly Quote
LightningIII Posted August 14, 2012 Author Posted August 14, 2012 (edited) I don't want to change things in the model, just change how some of the displays work. The F-35 cockpit is just one big touchscreen so it has a lot of flat open space. I was hoping to be able to do things sort of like what you can do with a HUD in the avionics ini - just add in the right textures and code etc. Edited August 14, 2012 by eaglef15strike Quote
+Dels Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 No unfortunately you're out of luck. All those displays on the "LCD screen" are actually 3d meshes. You need to modify the 3d model for the cockpit. Dels Quote
