slick cowboy Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 I'm desperately trying to relocate the D10 airfield on the desert map, but it's really hard to look at the planning map and pick a spot. So far I always end up in hilly terrain or with trees in the middle of the runway.... Is there a more efficient way to find a good spot?
+Wrench Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 http://combatace.com/topic/44621-adding-objects-to-your-target-areas/ general knowledge i hope you know how to use the terrain editor; because depnding on WHERE you place it, you will definately have to reflatten the 'zone' and possibly even retile it to 'empty' tiles
+gerwin Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 TFDtool can do these things too, but you need to extract the desert terrain from the cat first, and convert the necessary unicode ini files to simple ansi text. http://combatace.com/topic/68667-alternate-tfd-terrain-tilemap-editorviewer/
slick cowboy Posted November 24, 2012 Author Posted November 24, 2012 i tried the tool... but hell ansi, unicode... i think my brain is rebelling now i guess that's not for me then... i'll stick what i've got thx anyway ;-)
+gerwin Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Practically it means that the three ini files that matter: -terrain.ini -terrain_data.ini -terrain_targets.ini Are to be opened with NotePad (included in Windows), then click 'save as', and select ANSI. And leave them like that, no need to change back to unicode. ...hardly a show stopper.
