F-15C mini IRST style ball on nose - Any ideas?

Hi all, just flicking through some pics on a photographer forum I use and this guy caught some F-15C's going through the Mach Loop in Wales UK (rare for "C's" to use it) and I noticed the IRST looking ball just behind the radar. Anyone got any info/ideas as to what it is or was I right with my guess? - Here's the pic

Seems its part of the AESA radar upgrade from what I see on this website.

Yeah, still not sure what it is though, there's one top and bottom -

That's the kind of place EWR equipment is usually located. If a radar is looking straight on at you, that's the place that would notice it.

Band 3 antenna. Part of the MSIP II mod back in the late 90's.
