Hauksbee Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Well...as of 11:00 pm tonight. Then we can all return our copies of OFF and go home to await WOFF.
+Olham Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 (edited) If it was that easy... But for them it must have been an incredible release to be through with that war - a war that taught all nations, how terrible a war of highly developed industrial nations was. (Not that any other war was easy, though...) Edited November 11, 2013 by Olham
+RAF_Louvert Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 . The war to end all wars. If only that had been true. .
Maeran Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 But but I'm still in March 1917. repeatedly, things being as they are.. Never the less; of course I observed the minute's silence of 11 am this morning.
Hauksbee Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 But for them it must have been an incredible release to be through with that war - I recall a book on WWI aircraft. On the last page, there was a large-type quote from a pilot on Nov.11. He said they were in their planes on the flight line waiting to take off, and somebody came out and announced that the war was officially over. He said that, one by one, you could hear the engines turning off, but nobody got out of their plane. They just sat there listening to the ticking of the engines as they cooled down. Nobody knew what to do, or how to act. Never the less; of course I observed the minute's silence of 11 am this morning. And after all these years, I've thought it was 11 pm.
MudWasp48 Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I've a long way to go in OFF before this day comes... Always was taught it was 11am
