University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas, said two children, a 14-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl, were being flown there, both in critical condition. Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell said it was treating two other children. The extent of their injuries wasn't clear. Here's the story

Their extensive coverage of the relatively isolated incidents elevated them into the public consciousness, so now every crazy thinks about firing guns in crowded places. It's no longer an idea they have to come up with, it's given to them.
