Olham 164 Posted March 16, 2014 Tom, here's an "American Dream Tableau" - made especially for you. My very first flight was from Bremen to Berlin, when I was 11 years old - it was in a Convair Metropolitain. I had to fly alone to my grandma, as my parents wanted to prepare their divorce (which I didn't even know). Well, I was lucky - a boy alone on an airplane is often asked to see the cockpit, and so that beautiful stewardess asked me, and of course I would! She brought me there, and I remember how amazed I was about all those many instruments. That trip to Berlin is connected with another fine memory. My dad used to buy the monthly "Micky Maus" comics fro me - well, he read them first, and then I could have them - but in Berlin I walked along the Gardeschützenweg and saw in a stand outside a kiosk the first "Donald Duck Special Edition", which contained two wonderful stories by the great Carl Barks, the best Donald Duck artist. I still have that comic.
